  • Former Wall Street Financial Software Developer & Consultant

Mingchu Pearl Huynh is the founder of the Northeast Philadelphia Chinese Association (NEPCA). She arrived in the United States from Vietnam in 1980 with very little. Through perseverance and hard work, she built a successful career as a financial software developer and consultant on Wall Street.

In her late 40s, Pearl achieved financial independence through real estate investing, allowing her to dedicate herself fully to community service. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she has maintained a lifelong commitment to volunteering and serving others.

Since founding NEPCA in 2018, Pearl has devoted herself to strengthening and empowering the Chinese community in Northeast Philadelphia. Her story reflects how an ordinary immigrant woman, through determination and resilience, built a life on her own terms—and then turned around to help others do the same.

Her Story, By the Numbers:

  • 1980   Arrived in the United States with empty pockets — beginning a 45+ year journey of perseverance and determination.

Late 40s   Achieved full financial independence through real estate investing.

5,000+ Neighbors   Connected through community outreach and the NEPCA WeChat networks.

300+ Volunteers   Mobilized Chinese residents to participate in community volunteer service.

50+ Young Leaders   Mentoring Chinese youth to step up, get involved, and learn to advocate for our community.

$0   Thousands of volunteer hours dedicated to strengthening the community

What She wants to share:

  • Leveling Up at Work
How Asian women can navigate the American workplace and turn challenges into strengths.

    Investing in Yourself
Why building your own skills and confidence is the key to freedom and long-term security.

    From “Me” to “We”
Why supporting one another and stepping outside our comfort zones strengthens our community, earns respect, and fosters harmony in a diverse society.
