February| febrero 2024 WATER CONNECTS US Celebrate Black History Month The annual celebration of achievements by African Americans is a time to recognize their central role in our nation's history. We must recognize these contributions -- and address our legacy of racism -- throughout the year. Join us in learning about and being inspired by these Black Environmentalists featured by the San Francisco Environment Department. And let's honor our partners, Mama Carla and the Olney Culture Lab, who host Revival Walks in Tacony Creek Park each year. These walks bring healing, solace, and joy to participants and lift Afro-centric practices to rebalance our relationship with the natural world. Please share your environmental leadership story and heroes with us this month and throughout the year on our social media or by contacting Jamilee@ttfwatershed.org.
